Felix Mitelman
Prof. Felix Mitelman is a Professor of Clinical Genetics at the Medical Faculty of the University of Lund. Prof. Mitelman serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Genomic Vision, S.A. His current research and project focuses on a database of chromosome aberrations and gene fusions in cancer. The aim of the project is to systematically register all cytogenetic aberrations reported in cancer, their molecular genetic consequences, and clinical relevance. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ of Sciences, the American Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ of Arts and Sciences, and the Polish Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ of Science. He was awarded the Jubilee Prize of the Swedish Medical Association in 1989, the Nordic Fernstrom Prize in 2007, the Soderberg Prize in Medicine in 2008, and the European Society of Human Genetics Award in 2013. He is the Founding Editor (1989) and Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Genes, Chromosomes, & Cancer.
